Picket fence With a sturdy tree Green grass And a tire swing Lavender growing by the garden gate Laughter and joy Abound in every corner Art on every wall Music drifting alongside The good smells wafting From the cookies baking in the oven Contentment Stability A home at last Well and rightly earned -gws
I lay out the evidence before me I examine the facts Contemplate the weights and measures I rework the figures I examine and cross examine It is the only way to be sure I leave no stone unturned In my quest for understanding I must know the cause To comprehend the effect My honor demands this work Only logic and reason can guide me To the fairest outcome The most balanced conclusion There is no room for bias No room for emotional subjectivity I employ open-minded objectivity To uncover the lessons Hidden in the bits and pieces before me No matter how pleasant or painful What is just and balanced must prevail -gws
Onward toward the horizon The time is now I may not know what the outcome will be But I know that I must away I shall follow my feet As I chase my dreams I know I am moving in the right direction And nothing and no one Can arrest my progress So hear me As I whoop my enthusiasm My destiny is calling Ready to be made manifest At last -gws
I feel as though I am the embodiment of Spring Possibility quickening in my veins I throw my arms wide As wide as my opening heart I brim over with blissful ecstasy I have hummingbird wings in my chest Thrilling and wild Ready to love and be loved Every part of me alive I am one with the world and the world with me I drink deeply of these feelings Joy Happiness Abundance Love I weave a crown of wildflower wishes And dance through reed and grass Laughing unabashedly With arms raised in elation To the watercolor painted sky -gws
Pennies from heaven Or so the song says I am gifted good fortune Which with you I do spread When blessings are shared All souls benefit Such kindness calls likeness Charmed threefold forthwith Not all are so lucky Not all boats do rise So please do be grateful Afore away fortune flies -gws
Change rages up suddenly Like a great black storm Knocking me asunder Ripping the fabric of my reality To tatters and debris I grasp for anything familiar But all is devastated And I am shaken and unmoored I look upon the ruination And as if dreaming Start to see where there was rending A seed of hope to start the mending Rebuilt Re-imangined Renewed Revived Restored Evolved To a state which lets the light shine in Lets the breeze clear away the lingering smoke A world that is welcomed in And not kept out Where life is lived And not endured -gws

To the more than you or me To the "WE" we didn't know we needed to be You are the joke to my spit take The acetaminophen to my headache Perhaps you are the nut to my screw Yes, that was awkward Tis true A strangely perfect combination With enduring fascination Like pickles and peppermint sticks Like cornichons and caramel dip Like peanut butter and pickle sandwiches And jack cheese quesadillas with pickled cabbages Our inner Jerry McGuires mouthing "You complete me!" without the shouting Laughing out loud to jokes unspoken Exchanging small trinkets as love tokens I'm happy to have you as my ride or die As I provide the "why ask why?"
